professor louis verbeke is doctor in law (ghent, belgium) and holds a master degree of vlerick. he also holds an llm of virginia university (us). he is a member of the brussels bar. until august 2005 he was senior partner at the global law firm allen & overy. he is chairman of vlerick business school and honoury chairman of the belgian institute of directors. he chairs and is director of several listed and unlisted corporations and writes a monthly chronicle for de tijd, belgium’s leading business paper. his main interest is how internationally politics, law, ethos and ethics interrelate; he teaches about the consequences, e.g. in respect of governance, policy and m&a.
